Learn more about our two main variants of Acacia Honey, along with the product gallery.
Acacia crassicarpa
Acacia crassicarpa honey is honey produced by superior bees (Apis mellifera) that are grazed in acacia forests. Bees collect nectar for honey from the dew at the base of young acacia leaves.
Acacia plants continuously produce nectar throughout the year, making acacia honey the most consistently available honey as it is not seasonal.
Acacia crassicarpa honey has a sweet, soft flavor with a slight fresh acidity characteristic of nectar, ranging in color from amber to dark amber.
Acacia mangium
Similar to Acacia crassicarpa, Acacia Mangium honey is produced by superior bees (Apis mellifera) that are grazed in Mangium forests. This variety of acacia has broader leaves compared to Acacia crassicarpa.
Bees also collect nectar for honey from the dew at the base of its young leaves. Acacia mangium also produces nectar year-round, but the area of land used for grazing Acacia mangium is relatively small, so the supply of Acacia mangium honey is not as abundant as Acacia crassicarpa.
Acacia mangium honey has a sweeter and smoother taste with a slightly brighter color, ranging from amber to light yellow.
